Logos

These are the stories behind the graphical representation of our club over the past 108 years.

1902

Recently discovered at The Stanton library, this logo represents the initial Cammeray Team that existed between 1902 and 1909 in the CSCA.

1940

Cammeray entered the NSCA in 1932 and this logo represents the earliest representation of The Club.

1956

This logo was found by Alistair Spaite at the Stanton Library Archives in North Sydney in 2007. It was on the top of a letterhead and includes the 1950’s NSCA typeface.

1978

This logo appeared on retro cool 70s jackets presented to the premiership winning 1978 A Grade side. Note the fair colouring of the crossed bats and Olympic style wreaths.

1983

This sketch appeared on the cover of the 1982-83 yearbook compiled by David “Dicko” Dickinson. This yearbook represents the earliest known publication by Cammeray CC.

1984

Obviously the following year, Dicko decided to splash out a bit and capture this hot 80’s cricket-man in flashing cover drive form.

1985

This logo came from Neil Smith’s beauty jacket after winning the 1985 B Reserve Grade premiership. Note the bats have turned an attractive shade of brown.

1986

This logo, again from The Smithsonian Collection, shows the crossed bats with what appears to be sticky tape across the torso of the bat holding it together. The influence of Bruce Reid was great in the 80’s…

1989

Taken from the front cover of the 1989 yearbook, this picture shows the influence of The Bridgeview Hotel - a longtime sponsor of the Cammeray CC.

1990

This logo from 1990 shows the increasing influence of computers on our image. The classic “shield” design has been added with a dot matrix effect over the light parts of the image. Whatever happened to those huge connected sheets of computer paper with perforated holes you could tear off the sides? Bring back Milli Vanilli I say!

1994

During the mid 90’s, resources were scarce in Cammeray. That’s why the ball in this logo became chequered and the bats became massive meat clevers.

1995

Not all the logos in the 90’s were big and clunky. This thin logo came from The Smithsonian’s C Grade team of 1996.

1996

This logo came from Steve Si’s battered old bunged up baggy green cap. Out of nowhere, there are some stumps that have appeared in the background.

2000
