Benn Glazier [weblog]

I've recently relocated to London from Sydney and I'll ramble about good food and drink around town, eclectic electronic music, absolutely anything to do with digital media, throw some sport (more than likely cricket) in and the odd personal experience — as seen through my camera lens.

In the Listening Booth This Week

Christian Prommer
Christian Prommer at Ten Days Off – Ghent, Belgium 2008

The charts are back. Making a long awaited return. This week, the big favourites have been Luciano’s Fabric Mix and Christian Prommer’s DrumLesson. I had the fortune of seeing Prommer in Belgium earlier this year – highly recommended. Yes, they’re a cover band, and they do jazz/salsa/cuban-beat interpretations of some of electronic music’s finest moments over the years. Before you cringe, have a listen, as you’ll probably be quite surprised. The intrepretations are thoughtful, clever and bum-wiggling as well. “Strings of Life” is one of the tracks they cover, and whilst you may have heard that horrid version that was dished out on 23 different Ministry of Sound CDs over the last two summers, at least give this one a chance as it’s good, no very good.

And on to the top listening chart:

Galluzzi Schneider – Albertino
Kenny Larkin – You Are… (Original Mix)
Chymera – Arabesque
Christian Prommer’s DrumLesson – Claire
Christian Prommer’s DrumLesson – Can You Feel It
Kevin Saunderson feat. Inner City – Good Love (Luciano Remix)
The Herd – Time To Face The Truth
Christian Prommer’s DrumLesson – Plastic Dreams
Christian Prommer’s DrumLesson – Rej
The Herd – 2020
