Woolworths Pledges $ to Drought Relief

Woolworths is donating its entire supermarket profits on Tuesday January 23 to Australian farming families in need.

So, if you need to grocery shop that week, make sure you do it on this day to assist the Country Women’s Association and research into sustainable farming practices.

More information here. Woolworths are to be congratulated on this. Now, I’d love to see more of corporate Australia putting their hand in their pockets and helping out where it’s desperately needed.

  1. They need good press after being pinned for ultra anti competitive behaviour, again. But it does sound like a great initiative. Good on them.

You’re not feeling Peach + Shag?

Nah, I like my peaches from the grocer, and I’m a bit tired of the screeches of peaches. A shag on a rock, well… not my kind of bird, but anyway…

Yeah… I heard them one morning on the radio and they did my head in. I’m not sure if they were drunk or something, but their antics caused me to vow I’d never again listen in to them.

Are woolworths for real????? What about the damage they have already done to our farmers??Why not give a break 365days a year instead of one day. Is there any truth to the rumor that woolworths has put groceries up 10% prior to “help the farmer day”.
